During February’s extreme cold snap, OnPoint NYC expanded operations to remain open overnight 24/7, providing a warm, medically supported indoor space for hundreds of New Yorkers. Nearly 850 people visited across the weekend, with approximately 150 staying overnight each night as temperatures fell to 3°F. The emergency partnership with the City reflects a harm-reduction approach to homelessness and public health, offering low-barrier refuge for people who may not access traditional shelters.
